09/14/2017: Equifax Breach

By now you may have seen or heard news reports about a data breach at Equifax, one of America’s big 3 credit bureaus, that resulted in the possible compromise of millions of Americans’ personal information. We are deeply concerned about this event and we want you to be aware of ways you can protect yourself against identity theft and cybersecurity-related crimes that could occur as a result of the Equifax breach.  Equifax has established a dedicated website at www.equifaxsecurity2017.com.  At this site you can determine whether your information has been potentially compromised.  You also can sign up for credit file monitoring and identity theft protection.  We encourage you to take advantage of the tools being offered by Equifax.

We also want you to know that the breach at Equifax did not affect Home Bank. Our data remains secure and we will continue to be vigilant in guarding your personal information and the financial assets you have entrusted to us.  We ask you to partner with us in that effort by carefully monitoring your accounts and reporting any suspicious activity to us.  Feel free to call us or stop by one of our offices if you have questions or concerns about the recent events at Equifax or any other matter related to data security.
